Q u i c k   c l e a n s e   d e - t o x   p r o g r a m

( Duration 7 days)

This program is excellent in that it provides a simple format with instructions to follow. The kit contains a number of herbal products that work to detox the liver, stomach and large intestine in conjunction with a sensible diet. (kit can be ordered through the zen shop )

Some of these herbs include;

Cascara Sagrada Bark

Is one of the world's popular medical herbs, cascara sagrada is a laxative of unparalled value. Cascara contains chemicals called anthraquinones that stimulate bowel elimination. The herb also works to restore bowel tone.

Black walnut Hulls

High in iodine, black walnut hulls have value for any cleansing program because of their ability to kill intestinal parasites.

Psyllium Hulls

Psyllium offers two key benefits in a detoxification program. First,it provides bulk to help "scrub" the bowel clean, and second, it prevents the absorption in the colon. Psyllium can provide significant relief from constipation, haemorrhoids, irritable bowel syndrome, and problems relating to poor elimination.

Ginger Root

Ginger is an antispasmodic that soothes the intestinal tract. It also prevents nausea, relieves indigestion and cramping in the intestine, and contains enzyme-type substances that help digest proteins.

Rhubarb Root

Rhubarb has been popular for centuries in China as a treatment for dysentery. Large amounts of rhubarb have a powerful laxative effect, a quality useful for any detoxification program.

Wormwood

Many people today harbour intestinal parasites which secrete toxins and rob the body of vitality. Cleansing the body of parasites is an important part of any cleansing program. Wormwood is one of nature's best parasite eliminators. It also stimulates the liver and gallbladder.

Elecampagne

Elecampane helps the body expel parasites, which are a root cause of many health problems including fatigue, flatulence, bloating, and other digestive problems. It contains a chemical called alantolactone that kills parasites, including pinworms and giardia. Elecampagne can be taken alone or in combination with other herbs.

Goldenseal root

Goldenseal contains two noteworthy chemicals, berberine and hydrastine, which kill many types of bacteria, fungi, and protozoa, including those that cause diarrhoea, dysentery, giardia and cholera. It also stimulates white blood cells, thereby boosting immunity.

The Quick Cleanse ™ - Do's and Don'ts

 

FOODS NOT TO EAT WHILE ON THE 7 DAY CLEANSING PROGRAM

Sugar, salt, animal products, dairy products including butter and milk, refined (white) flour products, white rice, white pasta, white bread, processed foods - including canned foods, packaged foods, frozen foods, chips etc, chocolate, donuts, cakes, biscuits, jams, fruit spreads, margarine including peanut butter. Polyunsaturated oils & spreads, including cold pressed oils except for the ones listed.

 

BEVERAGES NOT TO DRINK

All Caffeine drinks - coffee, tea, cola with caffeine etc. All Alcoholic beverages - wines, beer and spirits etc. All drinks that contain added sugar-soft drinks, flavoured drinks, cordial drinks etc.

 

FOODS YOU CAN EAT WHILE ON 7-DAY CLEANSING DIET

All sprouted seeds, grains and legumes - Mung, Alfalfa, mixed salad etc. All legumes (best to soak overnight before cooking). All raw and steamed vegetables - best to eat later in the day. All fresh fruits (avoid citrus fruit except for lemons). All nuts & seeds; almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds & sesame seeds are best. All whole grains, rolled oats, rye, barley, buckwheat, linseed meal, millet etc. Wholemeal bread, wholemeal pasta, brown rice. Sun dried fruits - Apricots, figs, dates, peaches, sultanas etc. Tahini (unhulled is best) - use as spread in place of butter. Raw honey, pure maple syrup - use in place of sugar. Herbal seasoning - use in place of salt. Cold pressed virgin olive oil, lemon juice and apple cider vinegar (unfiltered) - Mix together, use as salad dressing.

 

BEVERAGES YOU CAN DRINK WHILE ON 7-DAY CLEANSING DIET

All fresh vegetable and fruit juices (avoid citrus fruits except for lemon). Herbal teas with pure water only (do not add milk or sugar). Filtered water (drink 8 glasses of pure water daily). Soy milk, rice milk, almond milk.

THE QUICK CLEANSE 7 DAY DIET PLAN

 

To get maximum benefit from the "Quick Cleanse Program" please follow this cleansing diet plan for the first 7 days. This diet provides you with an excellent source of complex carbohydrates (energy food), protein (amino acids), vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. On completing the 7-Day Diet continue taking all 4 Quick Cleanse products for a further 7 days or until you have regular and easy bowel movements daily.

SPROUTED FOODS ARE LOADED WITH NATURAL LIVING ENZYMES!
Include large portions of sprouted foods (seeds, grains, legumes) when adding to meals, salads and sandwiches. Sprouted foods are excellent for digestion because they are one of the best sources of living enzymes. Apart from fresh fruits and vegetables and sprouted foods, there are very few foods that contain living enzymes. Sprouts are also rich in Vitamins C, the B group and provide an excellent source of essential amino acids.

Important rules to remember:-

 

  1. Do not over-eat
  2. Do not eat late at night or within 2 hours of retiring.
  3. Drink at least 8 glasses of pure (filtered) water daily.
  4. Do not drink within 30 minutes of main meals and wait 1 hours after.
  5. Always chew your food slowing and thoroughly before swallowing.
  6. Use organically grown foods where ever possible…These are free of insecticides, pesticides, herbicides and other added chemicals.

On Arising:
Drink a glass of warm water (150mls) with dash of fresh lemon juice. Drink 200mls of fresh vegetable juice, carrot, celery, beetroot, wheat grass etc. Alternate with fresh fruit juice - Apple, pear, prune, apricot, watermelon, pineapple, paw paw etc. You can mix these fruits together or simply have one. Swish the juice in your mouth to provide needed saliva for proper digestion...If you don't have time to prepare fresh juices please use only bottled organic fruit juices which contain 740 juice and "NO ADDED ANYTHING".
PLEASE NOTE: If you suffer from constipation drink 300 mls of 740 prune juice (bottled) every morning instead of the above juices.

Breakfast:
Medium serve natural raw muesli (Biogenic), add fresh pear, ripe banana, stone fruits in season or with your favourite sundried fruits. Add soy milk (Bon Soy) or rice milk (no cows milk). Or medium serve of porridge or rolled oats with mixed fresh or sundried fruits.
Take 1 Lipid Clear & 1 Bowel Clear.

Mid Morning:
1 - 2 pieces of fresh fruit (no oranges please) and one cup of Green Tea (no sugar, honey or milk).

30 mins Before Lunch:
Take 1 Stomach Clear & 1 Bowel Clear.

Lunch:
1 or 2 sandwiches (please don't use white bread) filled with salad, mixed sprouts, use avocado or tahini as spread for taste (No Butter). Always include heaps of fresh sprouted seeds or legumes with all salad mixes. 1 piece of fruit. Please try and choose a good quality wholemeal bread (yeast free if possible) with lots of fibre.

Mid Afternoon:
1 or 2 pieces of fresh fruit. A cup of Green tea. If you like you can nibble on raw almonds or raw sunflower seeds.

30 mins Before Dinner:
Take 1 Stomach Clear & mix 2 heap teaspoons of Intestinal Clear with 150mls of soy or rice milk.

Dinner:
Include any of the foods on the "FOODS YOU CAN EAT LIST". Brown Rice, streamed vegetables, wholemeal pasta etc. On the 2nd, 4th & 6th days you can include a SMALL portion of streamed or grilled fish.

PLEASE NOTE: If you suffer from indigestion please mix 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar with 100mls of warm water and drink 30 mins before each main meal.

Take 1 Lipid Clear.

IMPORTANT RULES!
 

  1. Do not eat any heavy foods immediately after you have completed Cleansing Diet period. Add these gradually over a few days.
  2. Repeat Quick Cleanse Program every 3 months or when you feel you need to give your body a good clean out.
  3. Do not over-eat.

  9. Include most of the foods listed here in your daily diet. QUICK FIBRE PLUS - NUTRITIONAL HIGH FIBRE ENERGY DRINK!

After completing the internal cleansing program mix 2 tablespoons of Quick Fibre Plus with 200mls of soy or rice milk every morning for a delicious high fibre nutritional drink. One 30 gram serve supplies an adult with 1/3 of their daily fibre requirements, plus providing an excellent source of Calcium, Potassium, Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids.

"DRINK PLENTY OF PURE WATER DAILY!"
Another essential part of keeping you digestive system healthy is drinking plenty of pure water. Children should drink at least 500ml to 1 litre and adults about 2 litres daily.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO EXERCISE REGULARLY!
Exercise stimulates the circulatory and lymphatic system, building muscles, nerves, blood, glands, lungs, heart, brain, mind and mood. Blood is pumped throughout the body by the heart, but lymphatic fluid depends solely on exercise to be circulated. Lack of exercise lowers metabolic efficiency, and without circulatory stimulation, the body's natural cleansing systems are weakened. So please find at least 15-30 minutes a day to exercise. If you want to live your life to the fullest, full of vitality, free of pain and illness, you must simply commit to changing your lifestyle.
